College Interview Questions ^__^

What did you learn through researching different questions that college admission officers typically ask during an interview?

I learned that college admission officers basically care about how you did in high school and who you are as a person. I think that they also care about where you would want to be in your future because they ask questions like ” Where do you see yourself in 10 years?” I believe that they just want to see what type of person you are to see if the type of person you are is the type of person they want attending their college.

What were some questions that you found easy to answer? What were some challenging questions?

Some Questions that I found easy to answer were questions that asked about any extra-curricular activities that I might want to be a apart of. I know what type of things that I am interested in and things that I would want to be apart of while in college. I also found it easy to explain what I want to major in and why because I have already decided what I want to major in and I have a passion for both.

Here’s what MY questions and response look like …

Do these look good so far ? Hopefully , I’ll get the admissions people LOVE me ^__^

Make a Facebook Your Be Proud To Show Your Mommy ^__^

Many times , people put on ” fronts ” for Facebook . They pretend their something their not and try to fit in . This may involve having an inappropriate Facebook page . Yet , having an appropriate Facebook page can be so simple . Some ways you can have a good Facebook is by :

  • Keeping it up to date ( let the people know what you’re doing )
  • Have appropriate pictures ( don’t post pictures of you smoking or drinking )
  • Fill out all parts of the info ( not address ) and make your page PRIVATE to avoid other people writing bad things on your wall .
  • Make sure your Bio explains and represent who YOU are .
  • No online arguing with your caps lock ( JUST BECAUSE YOUR WRITING LIKE THIS DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING ) … if you wouldn’t say it to their face , don’t post it online .
  • spell ALL your words out . Don’t waste the time you’ve spent in school learning grammar to toss it out the window on the internet …

What I Need To Do To Stay ON Track ^__^

Getting to college isn’t just going to be handed to you. I would need to make sure i do a few things. In order to make it to college , I would need to :

  1. Do god and finish MIDDLE school ^__^
  2. Make sure i am on top of my game in high school. This means that I am very focused on my studies and I am able to juggle school as well as any other activities I may be involved in.
  3. Surround myself with people who are going to help me be successful and have similar goal as me.
  4. DON’T get caught up with the idea of being in High School and partying TOO hard.

There are probably a million other things i need to do in order to make it into and through college , but i believe these 4 helpful tips are a pretty good start. Even though it’ll be five years from now , I think that I’m on a pretty good track to college. Most people think about college their junior year in high school. I’m thinking about it my 8th grade year in middle school. Okay , blog you people later ^__^ I’m going to go and work my way toward college <3

My Resume Experience

Today in class we worked on how to write our own resume . We looked at a sample resume that helped us outline what our resume needs to look like and require. We also made our OWN resume . Our resume had to include things like our :

- Education

-Interests/Activities

- Achievements

-Any job experiences

-Any volunteer experience

-Computer skiils

- and of course the basic information like your address , name , number , etc .

I think that this was a really good lesson that can help us later on in life . Here’s what the sample resume looks like …

What Does A College Application Look Like ?

Today in Tech Class , we filled out college applications . We have been researching college applications for the longest and now we finally get to try and see what it would look and feel like to actually be filling out a college level application . It’s not as easy as people may think . There are so many legal and general questions or information that you need to fill out . That part was pretty confusing because they used A-LOT of words that mean something pretty similar . For example : they would say “Parent One” and “Parent Two” instead of just saying Mother and Father . They asked for things like your social security number , but I did not know it right off the back . There is a lot of information that I would need to fins out about MYSELF before filling out any applications . Also , there is the essay portion . I found that portion fairly simple because I am a good writer and words just come to me naturally . I think that when it really IS time for me to begin filling out college applications , I should be pretty prepared . Here’s two pictures of what my sample application looked like .

And this below is the start of my writing essay

What I’m Looking For In A College ?

Today I am taking a test to help me determine what type of college i should go to . So far , I have taken the test two times and nothing meets my criteria . Finally ! The third time’s a charm . I have found two colleges that met my criteria . They are Florida State University and New York University . They both:

  1. Have an urban setting
  2. Are four year colleges
  3. Both have a cheer-leading team
  4. Offer Coed Housing : )
  5. Have Fraternity and Sorority Housing ( I want to be an AKA )
  6. Offer the academic programs that I am looking for ( I want to be a lawyer when I grow up )
  7. They have School S P I R I T !

These are the only two schools that the college linked me with , but one college that i would like to attend my self , that i don’t need the test to tell me is USC . I took a tour of the campus in 7th grade and i fell in L O V E with it . It has a great academic program and their spirit is the best . Besides that , it is in the good ole state of Cali baby : ) But if i had to choose to apply to anyone of those three colleges , i would definitely choose USC . I want to study there and be able to call myself a USC Trojan ! After THREE times trying to get matched up , i made my decision . USC will definitely be seeing me walk their campus ( in five years )

You will Definitely See Me T H E R E ^__^

Ehh , I guess that’s an option .
